We all know the moment

You’re in the aftermath of a plot twist you never saw coming, or the breakthrough you hoped for never arrived. You want movement, you want more, and you already know it means you need to “keep showing up”—but why hasn’t it mattered? What did you miss? Or worse, is there something wrong with you? The life you built is lacking something you can’t quite figure out and you’re wondering if it even exists. What is it gonna take to shake things up, or put them back together, the way you want this time? Why didn’t it work before? Are you missing out on some secret sauce everyone else has? Why does it feel like the healing and transformation you desire is real one day, but out of reach the next?

Hey there, I’m Kat

…and while I always feel it’s a ridiculous phrase to read on a website: I’m glad you’re here. The people I work with often find me because someone interrupted them as they were saying how frustrated they are with “whatever the f*ck healing is” and while you were confiding in them how it feels like there’s no one who actually gets it if you say how you really are —they said: “Hey, there’s this person named Kat.

Maybe they’ve worked with me before, or maybe they’ve seen my content and it’s resonated enough that they secretly want you to meet with me first to see what’s up. That’s usually how it goes, a random chance moment in conversation or an encounter through the algorithm and now you’re here reading this out of all the content on the wide world of the internet to decide if this is just another life coach promising outrageous things. That’s how I end up getting to work with people, and the reason they sent you here, because the outrageous thing is this work is life changing and always in ways you didn’t even know was possible for yourself.

All that to say, that’s why I said: I’m glad you’re here.

Here is what I know to be true about the Transformation you’re looking for:

Your entire story is held in your body, and in parts of you that hold the life-altering truths you know are there, but have yet to reach through your intuition or trust in your relationships. This is because these stories haven’t been put into words or given a safe place to emerge. You need someone with the skill to create the space for you to remember what you already know. You need someone to name what has happened in your life that right now feels just out of awareness, or too chaotic, jumbled, or terrifying to name alone.

You need to be seen.

This is the transformative healing work I’ve dedicated my life to.

I’ve completed advanced training with The Allender Center in the model of therapy known as Narrative Focused Trauma Care, and am currently pursuing my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology at The Seattle School with a concentration in Trauma and Abuse. I also utilize and am informed in the evidence based model of Internal Family Systems developed by Richard Schwartz. Over the past five years I have researched and published a book on friend breakups and community loss from a trauma informed perspective. Most importantly my work with others is grounded in having shown up in my own story through 8+ years of trauma therapy, education with professional supervision in my coaching practice with others for 6+ years, both alongside extensive personal study. Healing work is my whole heart, and facilitating care that empowers others to be more alive and connected to themselves is one of the greatest joys of my life.

You did not lose connection with yourself in a vacuum, or because you didn’t have the right coping strategy.

The wonder of who you are, and the aliveness you know you were meant for, was harmed by someone at some point in your life—often repeatedly. These relationships are what cut you off from your ability to connect with yourself in the first place. Finding your self again means experiencing the support of a safe and capable healing relationship, and that’s where I get to partner with you as you reconnect with your innate ability to heal and discover your inner world again.

This is the place

where you are witnessed as you are, exactly where you are, that the healing and answers you’re looking for can be found within you.

“Okay so, if that’s true why can’t I just DIY this?” you ask.

Well actually, you can! That’s the goal of this process, through every session and the entirety of our work together.
You deserve access to all of you, and when you realize every part of you is seeking to care for you, you can begin to approach even the most tender or resistant spaces in yourself (including those you want to change) with kindness and curiosity. I work with you and your inner world to create room for you to find, heal, and discover your fullest and truest self. These encounters with yourself from our sessions will transform your experience of everyday life, ability to show up in your relationships, along with freeing up your sense of what is possible for you in understanding yourself at any given moment and what’s available in connection with others. The reason our work together offers this is because these parts you want to heal, and the stories you carry, come from relational contexts. Understanding these places within you (and how you learned to survive as a result) is what allows these parts of you to trust you so that they can partner with you going forward in the work of transformation and building the life you’ve longed for.

Are you ready to belong to yourself again?

Here’s what my clients have to say about the changes they’ve experienced as a result of working with me:

Experience clarity & confidence

I have so much clarity, peace, and acceptance around my stories and how they came to be. I have legitimate tools for navigating my often complicated inner world and all the parts of me that live there. This has given me a depth of confidence and validation around who I am, how I got here, and who I can be going forward. Honestly, working with Kat has just been such an incredible and life changing gift to every part of me.
I have more clarity and confidence in who I am, who I want to be, and how deeply both of those things impact my relationships with myself and those around me. From working with Kat, I’ve discovered within myself that there is no right or wrong way to be, and that is freedom.

Connect more deeply with your body

I’ve never been so aware of my self and my body. My entire way of approaching my anxiety and depression has changed, I’ve developed tangible compassion for myself that I never knew I needed.
I have an awareness of my own self and body to an extent I’ve never come anywhere close to before. It has been almost like meeting myself for the first time.

Love every part of who you are

From working with Kat, I learned to notice parts of myself with curiosity, compassion, or even just neutrality, instead of judgment. I learned how to respond to the invitation of awareness. I learned that the anxiety and shame of my awareness are welcomed. Most of all, I learned to recognize that all “parts” of me are here to protect and care for me. Before working with Kat, I rejected so many parts of myself. After working with her, I can acknowledge the rejection itself functioning as its own part. As a result, I see the depth and breadth of my inner world in entirely new and beautiful ways.
Kat provided a safe place and addressed my issues around anger in a way no previous therapist or coach has. Her rare insight into why my anger exists in the first place has allowed me to embrace it, and heal the deep woundedness that it springs from. I am not one to gush, but working with Kat has brought about profound change and new ways of being in this world for me. I think there’s a bit of magic involved because I’ve seldom met someone so able to see where someone’s true hurt and trauma lie and then slowly and and gently help you confront that in yourself. My life feels freer because of it.

Find the hEaling you long for

I was seeking direction from everything and everyone outside of myself. Kat reminded me of myself, and to trust me. She welcomed my resistance and my shame equally as she did the other sparkly parts of myself. She taught me how to treat me by how she treated me - with so much care and compassion and attentiveness. I was convinced I had been abandoning myself over and over, when she offered, “You can’t come home unless you’ve been gone.” This sentiment has stayed with me and expanded in what it means to me over time. Right now, it reminds me that I’m right there with myself, even when I’m gone, even before I return home. And as we know, the returning is always so sweet. Kat brought me back to myself.
Freedom. That is what working with Kat brought me. Freedom to feel, to be, to experience. Freedom to accept the parts of me I thought were “bad”, but were really doing such a beautiful job of protecting the most tender parts of me. Freedom to allow those tender parts to tell their story, to be supported, to be validated, and to grow.

“Kat is amazing. Her work is transformative. While Kat is so kind and welcoming, she also always offers up perceptive insights and asks the questions you need to ask yourself. She creates a safe container to push yourself and explore in a loving way.”

HERE’s ALL THE INFO ON OUR WORK

+WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN A SESSION?

My coaching style is curiosity based and wants to know both who you are and who you desire to be. From there, as we get to know your story, themes emerge that we can engage together. This enables us to build a safe container and healing practice unique to you, your lifestyle, and needs. As a coach I believe the internal dialogue patterns we have today began in younger parts of ourselves. I seek to engage these original narratives from the work of the present and your embodied experience in order to restore a path of self love and acceptance. This is ultimately what transforms our lives, creative pursuits, careers, health, and relationships into what we long for them to be.

+WHAT IS THE COST AND COMMITMENT?

My coaching sessions are 50 minutes weekly, virtual or in-seat (for those local to the Denver/Boulder area). We begin with a minimum 3 month weekly session commitment as we work together to create a care and creative plan for your growth moving forward. My rate is $150 a session, billed weekly. After this initial weekly 12 session period, or if you are a returning client, switching to biweekly sessions is available to you at a monthly rate of $300 (2 sessions per month, missed sessions can be rescheduled within the same month). At this time my sliding scale spots are full.

+CAN WE MEET LESS FREQUENTLY?

For first time clients, we meet weekly for the first 3 months to create a space that facilitates growth and healing. Beginning to care for our mental health is like starting anything: consistency is key. The movement towards healing for our hearts is supported by this commitment. Once we have been working together for 3 months of weekly sessions, we can assess your needs and desire for the frequency of continued work. I offer a bi-weekly option after this point billed at a monthly rate of $300 (2 sessions per month). If you are a returning client, you are welcome to resume weekly at my current rate or biweekly at the monthly rate at anytime.

+WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE TRAUMA INFORMED?

To be trauma informed means that as a coach I am equipped with knowledge, understanding, and professional training to honor the past stories that surface when we begin to know ourselves in the present with the intention of growth and future purpose for our lives. My education and background is within a method called Narrative Focused Trauma Care, which I incorporate alongside the Internal Family Systems Model. Both are evidence based models of care developed by psychologists over the last 40 years. I find these two methods strike a beautiful balance of deep healing work done with gentle embodied care.

+WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COACHING AND THERAPY?

Therapy is regulated and certified to diagnose. Coaching is not currently regulated and is not able to diagnose. I am a coach pursuing a Masters in counseling pyschology with a concentration in trauma and abuse. I chose to begin a coaching practice because I have significant experience in this field and clients were asking for a way to work with me.

+WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO CHANGE?

Your relationship to your own heart. Your ability to process emotions that you were previously afraid to feel. Your resilience to external criticism and understanding of your internal reaction to it. Your ability to set boundaries with ease and kindness. Your capacity to work through roadblocks towards your personal goals, multiplying the effectiveness of your creative and restorative practices.

Healing is not found in a manufactured outcome. That’s not how transformation works. The change and results you desire will be found in the places your story and inner world are waiting to show you. I will meet you here, where these parts of you need to be seen by you in your life. I will be with you here and invite you back to yourself.
And I know that it will be good.
